14 Ways to Practice Self-love this Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is a perfect opportunity to celebrate and show some love towards yourself! We shower the people in our lives with so much love and gratitude all year long, especially during the recent holiday season. Now its time to kick back and take some time out for you.

1. Dance and sing like no ones watching (except maybe your dog).

Put on your favorite songs, dance while getting ready for your Galentine's party, dinner plans or Netflix & sofa date. Start your day with great energy and let it transfer to the rest of your activities.

2. Face mask

A good face mask can go a long way. When your skin is hydrated and well moisturized, it makes it easier to apply your makeup. Face masks also give your skin a more plump and youthful appearance. Healthy skin is the best accessory so pamper yourself and get that fresh glow after your mask. Your skin will thank you later.

3. Bubble bath

Relax and recharge with a great bubble bath. Light some candles, use your favorite bath bombs and put some good throwback music on.

4. Light some new candles.

Fresh candles with new scents revive your space and leave you feeling rejuvenated. Try scents like peppermint, lavender, rose, or vanilla.

5. Nourish your body with a healthy meal.

You've been working hard all week, and what better way to repay yourself than with a nutritious and flavorful meal to refuel your body. While Valentine's day is chocolates favorite holiday, refueling your body with nourishment when temptation is all around will help you stick to your goals instead of doubling up on the cheat days this week.

6. Buy yourself a fresh bouquet of flowers.

Pick out a gorgeous bouquet of flowers at the market and put them in a beautiful vase. Fresh flowers bring vitality to your home, they boost your mood, reduce stress and spruce up your decor.

7. Slow down, be present and mindful.

Take some time to meditate, relax and give yourself a digital break for 30 minutes to unwind and focus on your intention of self-love. Clear any distractions and sit in a quiet space. Apps like Calm have mediation music and guided meditation sessions to help you focus on the present.

8. Get your heart pumping.

Do an exercise you enjoy whether it's at the gym or an at-home workout. Put on your favorite playlist and get a quick 30-minute session in.  You will feel great afterward with all those endorphins flowing through your body.

9. Shift your focus.

Whether your single or in a committed relationship this holiday, taking some time to put the focus on yourself is completely acceptable. No need to feel guilty or selfish for taking time to yourself. When we are at our best, we can overflow our good energy onto our loved ones. Your physical and mental health greatly benefit from the quality time you make for you!

10. Get dressed up.

Do a full glam no matter if your staying home or have dinner plans. Today is the day you add those false lashes and take as many selfies as you want.

11. Write a love letter to yourself.

When was the last time you told yourself- "I love you!" Come up with a list of 10 things you love about yourself. Think about any small victories you've recently had. Any obstacles you've overcome. New habits you're trying this year, or any old habits you left behind in 2018. Read it as often as you want and refer back to it on days you need a little pick me up to remind you of the badass that you are.

12. Pour your favorite glass of wine.

Every girl needs a good glass of wine no matter the holiday. Do you like red or white wine? I like a little bit of both. Cheers to good health and a beautiful 2019!

13. Treat yourself to a mani-pedi.

Nothing says self-love like a good mani-pedi. Try a new color, add a cute design and enjoy the hand and foot massages.

14. Write some affirmations.

Affirmations help you manifest specific goals and are meant to encourage a life filled with positivity and gratitude. If affirmations are a new practice to you, try some simple ones below to begin with by repeating to yourself:

"I am beautiful, I am strong, I am enough, I am successful, I am abundant, I am worthy"

I hope these tips help you in creating a self-love practice you can implement today and in your daily life. I am so glad I can share my passions with you and hope this touched your heart today. Always remember- you are beautiful!

Wishing you lots of love,
